Opening of Sensory Room at State Fair
Kelberman joined the Mother Cabrini Health Foundation and New York State Fair representatives on August 25, to celebrate the opening of a new sensory room at the New York State Fairgrounds, made possible by a collaboration between the three organizations. The dedicated space was created to provide individuals who may benefit from a quieter, sensory-friendly environment with a welcoming place to take a break from the sights, sounds and activity of the Fair. The new sensory room represents an important step in making one of New York State’s largest annual events more accessible and inclusive for individuals of all abilities and their families.
Selma Lupardo, Director of Development at Kelberman, spoke on behalf of Kelberman during the ribbon-cutting ceremony, held as part of Media Day at the New York State Fair. Our superstars from the Kelberman USA self-advocacy group were also in attendance, testing out the Fair’s new sensory room. Kelberman extends its sincere appreciation to the Mother Cabrini Health Foundation and the New York State Fair for their commitment to making the Fair a more welcoming and inclusive experience for individuals and families throughout New York State.
